Active in the world of Hindi kavi-sammelans since 2002, Chirag Jain first appeared on the silver screen in 2003 on NDTV’s show Arz Kiya Hai. His presentation in SAB TV’s Wah-Wah (2005) left a lasting impression on viewers. Thereafter, through electronic media channels he continued to reach wider audiences, culminating in a powerful appearance on the renowned comedy show Laugh India Laugh in 2012 on Life OK. With this, Chirag firmly established his stature as a master of comic poetry.

Chirag recited poetry in many episodes of SAB TV’s popular programme Wah-Wah Kya Baat Hai. In 2013–14, his quick-witted presence on News Nation’s acclaimed shows Chunavi Chakallas and Nation Chakallas brought him special recognition. Influenced by the popularity of these segments, major news channels organized dedicated kavi-sammelans to present poetry to the masses. Aaj Tak even launched a special series inviting poets to give poetic commentary on contemporary issues, in which Chirag appeared multiple times.

From 2018 to 2024, he often appeared in News18 India’s prime-time show Lapete Mein Netaji, where he performed in nearly 250 episodes. Many of his satirical verses from this show became some of the most widely shared video clips across social media.

Chirag Jain writes a regular satirical column titled Seriously Funny; for the national Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar, Marathi Daily Divya Marathi, and Gujrati Daily Divya Bhaskar; where he interprets contemporary events through his humorous lens—a column that is rapidly gaining popularity among readers. His articles appear regularly in leading periodicals of Hindi.

His first poetry collection, Koi Yoon Hi Nahin Chubhta (2008), received a publication grant from the Hindi Academy of the Delhi Government owing to its merit; it was published by Shilpayn. Thereafter, Mann To Gomukh Hai (Pankhi Prakashan) and Chhookar Nikli Hai Bechaini (Remadhav Arts) became widely appreciated works. Apart from his solo collections, his poems have appeared in more than a hundred anthologies, including the renowned collection Os.

Chirag has contributed significantly to literary editing, having supervised invaluable collections such as Pahali Dastak, Doosri Dastak, and Jago Phir Ek Baar. In 2025, with the aim of fostering a lucid and graceful form of Hindi among young learners, he created the Gullak Hindi curriculum series for Indian University Press— currently being used by thousands of students from Classes 1 to 8.

At present, Chirag is immersed in the creation of Purushottam, an epic that offers a psychological poetic exploration of the entire Ramayana in modern Hindi. When poetry meets theatre, and devotion blends with literature, the result is Purushottam; a one of its kind monologue.

Selected portions of this epic are performed by him on stage in a unique format that blends theatre, acting, music, poetry recitation, and commentary; an artistic confluence that has captured the attention of scholars as well as the general public. Many consider this work one of the finest poetic renderings of the Ramayana in recent times.

Having performed in more than 2,500 kavi-sammelans since 2002, Chirag Jain is the youngest poet ever to host the prestigious Red Fort Kavi Sammelan, considered the pinnacle of Hindi stage poetry.
During the COVID-19, while he was also suffering from Corona Virus, driven by empathy for his readers, friends, and well-wishers, Chirag initiated a nationwide relief effort titled Gilhari Prayas. He continued this humanitarian mission; arranging oxygen cylinders, medical consultations, essential medicines, counselling, and food delivery for affected families.

He also gave his creative contribution to the society in the form of numerous motivational songs during pandemic, which were broadcast by all major media channels and served as a source of hope for thousands.
